Debbie Broussard is the founder and owner of Debbie’s Dance Etc. Born and raised in Groves, TX, Debbie developed her love for dance at a young age. In 1972, Debbie started teaching dance while she was a sophomore in high school. She convinced her Mom to let her hold classes for the neighborhood children in their living room. From that moment on, she dreamed that one day she would have a real dance school of her own.

After graduating high school Debbie married and moved her dance school to her own home. Debbie taught dance out of her home for several years until finally opening her first studio in Groves. Debbie’s increasing student enrollment forced her to move her business to a larger studio located in Griffing Park. To her surprise, her students continued to multiply. Once again, she had to move to a larger location in order to satisfy her growing business.

Debbie’s Dance Etc. now has a permanent home in Groves in a 10,000 square foot facility with four dance studios and a gym. Debbie’s Dance has been a mainstay in the community for over 44 years. Many of her former students now have successful studios of their own. In 2016 the Groves Chamber of Commerce & Tourist Bureau named Debbie “The Small Business Person of the Year”. In addition to a quality dance education Debbie makes it a priority to be sure that students at Debbie’s Dance Etc. know how special and important they are to her and how much they are loved. She wants her students to feel the studio is their “home away from home.”
